Eurotrip 1 Day 7 . Berlin
Today we decided to go for the famous Berlin Walks, and so went to Hackescher Makt to meet the tour guides. First stop was a restored Jewish Synagogue. After much walking later, we came across Eisenmen's latest addition to Berlin, the Memorial to Murdered Jews of Europe.
(Yup that's a rare pic with me in it) One of the next stops was at Check Point Charlie, where many East Berliners lost their lives trying to cross into the west. The next pic shows a veteran lying on the ground, protesting the removal of pictures which showed how badly East Berliners were treated. Following that, the Berlin wall and a scene from the end of the tour.

Following the tour, we went to the Pergamon Museum, which takes its name from its most prolific relic, the Pergamon Altar, taken from Greece...but they can't be as bad as the English; one can find many significant historical relics popping up surprisingly in London museums. It would be quite embarrassing to read description texts of relics in Greece only to realize that they are replica's of the original in London. What's an ancient national Greek treasure doing in London, one might wonder?! Ok enough...on to unashamed condoning of such blatant acts of historical treachery...pictures...the entrance, the Pergamon Altar, the Ishtar Gate(all the way from Iraq no less), and a dome from the Ahlambra(how did they manage to do it? The poor Spaniards) And last but not least, a sculpture from Babylon. Alas, its but a replica of the original, in where else but London.

And after a tiring day of touring, we rounded it off with a nice Italian meal at Hackescher Makt. Hmm olives go well with beer...
