Eurotrip 3 Day 6 . Milan
This morning, we took the bus bound for Girona really early in the morning, just at the break of dawn, and took the Ryanair flight to Milan. Once out of the Milan(not really Milan but somewhere near there) airport, we took a bus to the central Milan train station. Ah Ben met us there and brought us to JiaJia's apartment. We had previously met Ah Ben at Grace's previous apartment as he was Yang Yang's friend. JiaJia is Ah Ben's Taiwanese friend in Milan who had just graduated from fashion design and was just about to leave for Taiwan and so decided to rent out a room to us just before she left.
We were shown the local supermarket by Ah Ben and we bought stuff for the next few days. Ah Ben made us salad with fresh mozzarella in vinegar and oil...quite nice...
We then proceeded to see the Milanese renovated fashion boutiques, led by Ah Ben. We also saw a cathedral and a nice arcade. Sorry no pics of the boutiques...none caught my eye...the cathedral was quite nice, quite big, but the white lights used were appalling; and I had always thought the Italians would have more pride in their heritage, guess such insensitive restoration really put Raimund to sleep...sleeping in the cathedral...tsk tsk tsk...he finds the most interesting places and postures of slumber...it seems that the architect of the arcade used his own blood to 'consecrate' the architecture...which probably accounts for its success? Surely its not also because it's in the city centre??? Anyway, he was reported to have commited suicide, jumping off the roof of one of the wings...sad...it probably wasn't successful then...

We had really nice ice-cream at the castle area...2 scoops overflowing from the cup for 2 euro...forgot the name of the castle...as u can tell I was not interested...we waited there for Rickey and Anny and went for dinner with Ah Ben at a nice place that he said was called an apertivo...apparently, you order a drink at around 5 to 6 euros and u get to have buffet dinner to go along with it...fried rice, pasta, battered mushrooms, crackers, etc...not a bad spread...i can't remember the number of rounds i had...the decor was interesting...some sort of indian harem setting...and the room we were in didn't have any windows nor ventilation...not good not good...it was quite hot...but well...the food was free flow and the drinks were nice...i had some sorta strawberry vodka with mint thingy...
