Eurotrip 1 Day 17 . Paris

We met Meiyi's uncle at the Austerlitz station(?) He was wearing a sleeveless England soccer jersey...of all places, in France...man was he spoiling for a fight...anyway...he was of good humour...being a scout and all, and a waiter for almost 20 years...hey they make loads cos they get tips yanoe...his place was really like a bachelor pad as you can see...a 40 inch wide screen Sony, a B&O amplifier set, professional audio recording equipment, cos he felt he could record more on the audio reel than conventional tapes...in the 70's that must have been really cool...
lunch was pretty memorable as he brought us to the oldest restaurant in Paris which serves food at old world prices...cool...appetizer was shrimp cream in half an avocado and escargots...main course for me was cow tongue...very tender...after you get the hang of eating tongue that is & Meiyi had lamb...very tender too...very good...mmm...

The rest of the afternoon was spent shopping...Meiyi had to get working clothes...I had to get a pair of walking shoes...

now dinner....

I will not forget the name of the restaurant... Au Pied de Cochon...hmm i think...it was at Les Halles...near Pompidou...famous for their pork dishes, and now also for their seafood...
Biao Bo Fu ordered the dishes in a smattering of French while the haughty Frenchies at the next table couldn't stop starring at us...no doubt wondering what these asian abominations were doing in such a fancy place...really...french restaurants need supercilious waiters or customers to be considered to be truly french. Enough said...anyway...we had Chablis to go with the oysters, which in Biao Bo Fu's opinion was not fat enough...just u wait till winter...they will be so fat!...yes...lets wait till winter...erhem...nevermind...and he told us too that should the oyster shrink when dripped with lemon, it was fresh...cool...my food moves...great...well i'm learning loads this summer eh...

by the time dinner was over it was already past midnight...boy time flies when you're eating well...so we had to take the taxi home...i must really thank dear ol' Biao Bo Fu...he is such a dear...the great food and all...what great hospitality...
